Chase the Light Photography Workshops are designed with your instruction in mind. We take you to special locations in the Southwest USA and teach you how to use your digital camera to capture the landscapes, people, and ancient ruins, waterfalls and Wildflowers of the Southwest. Daily reviews of your work are our specialty and our pleasure. We want you to love your photographs. Beginners are welcome at all our Workshops. 

 

Intro to Digital Photography

Wednesday, June 5, 4:30-6:30pm  Tuition: $49.

New Camera?  Learn how to use all those bells and whistles.  Take great photos with your new skills.  Bring your camera and a fully charged battery to classes.  Homework given and reviewed each week.

iPhone Photography
Learn how to use your smart phone for photography.   The 8MP camera in the iPhone is a really great camera.  Learn how to use the built in app, or there's an app suited for your special kind of photography.

Waterfall Photography
Tuesday, June 4, 3-9pm.  Meet in the Smiley Parking Lot and we'll head out to our local waterfalls. Bring your camera and a fully charged battery, tripod, warm clothes.

Summer 2013, Chase the Light Wildflower Extravaganza Photography Workshop

The San Juan Mountains in Southern Colorado are famous for the annual Wildflower displays.  Prolific to say the least, the wildflowers bloom in grand scenery, along quiet creeks, ponds, and lakes and on cliff sides all around our locations.
We've been exploring and photographing the San Juans Mountains for the past 20 years and we take you to our favorite locations. High altitude landscapes, complete with colorful wildflowers, reflections and sunsets is our passion.  We scout locations for this workshop a few days before the start so we are sure to give you an opportunity to practice the lessons of digital photography. Bring your favorite camera gear, dress in layers, and bring your tripod, gear list will be send to registered participants. 

We consider a tripod essential gear for landscape photography, and for your lessons.  Our expert instructor, Kit Frost, will take a peak at your compositions and discuss alternatives and teach you how to properly expose your image.  
Join us for up to four days of photographing Colorado's well known wildflowers, waterfalls, creekfalls and mountains. 
 
 








Zion National Park, Autumn Majesty Photography Workshop October 26-30, 2013

Zion Canyon is alive with color.  Not only do the trees turn color in autumn, but the canyon walls glow with golden light. Zion National Park is an amazing gem in Southern Utah.  Join us for 5 days in Zion National Park. We'll explore the light and land and teach you how to capture the best moments photographically.  We specialize in teaching you how to frame the best composition, to photograph at the best time of day for a variety of landscape images.  Subjects include the Virgin River Canyon, The Towers of the Virgins, The Patriarchs, Angels Landing and some hidden gems Kit has scouted for your photography lessons.  This workshop does not include strenuous hikes, but Kit will suggest a few places you may explore on your own prior to or after your Zion Autumn Majesty Photography Workshop.
